Where Monsters Begin and End comes out tomorrow. I have been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received. I cannot thank all of you enough for your excitement, encouragement, and love. Writing is often quite solitary, but books are ultimately a way of connecting— with characters, with a story, with humanity, with a writer, with other readers. I am feeling that connection right now, even though I am far away from so many of you.

Writing (and publishing) is a vulnerable thing. I feel a little bit like I’m cracking my head open and letting y’all poke around in my brain. I know some writers who never tell the people in their lives that they write— and some for good reason; not everyone gets it. Not everyone understands how much work, perseverance, and vulnerability it takes. I am unbelievably lucky to have so many people who get it— or even if they don’t, are still willing to show up and cheerlead. So to all of you— who have preordered, who have liked or commented on social media, who have sent encouraging comments, who have shared posts or told people about my book, who have already reviewed it— THANK YOU.
